Specifics

Our caterpillar is an appealing little character. With 20 little legs supporting his soft velvet top he looks as though he is about to scurry off on an adventure. Fashioned in our workshop on a whim, like all our handmade items he has a vintage feel and so you shouldn't expect as-new condition.

Measuring 37cm deep by 130cm wide by 44cm tall, this handsome guy is happy to provide a perch for guests to rest their tired feet. Please bear in mind that his is quite top heavy and so needs to be stood on flat ground. We are happy for our soft furnishings to go outside, but please do not leave them out in rainy weather.

Story

Mr Caterpillar Pouffe captures perfectly the Prop Factory spirit. With our intention to create inventive props from recycled materials, this quirky customer is the epitome of our hunting and gathering instincts. He was designed after the purchase of a basket of random stool legs ignited musings about actually being bugs’ legs. The moss green velvet fabric was repurposed from some second hand chairs we purchased from a hotel. The chairs were dismantled with the purpose of using their legs to make stools. We knew the beautiful fabric should be repurposed as well, so we patched it together to make the caterpillar seat. A super long tasselled fringe was found in our stash of haberdashery bits and bobs to provide the final flourish.

Inspiration

Hire our caterpillar pouffe to accompany items from our ever-expanding fairytale furniture range which includes a jam tart seat, throne chairs and a unique Mad Hatter’s chair.

To bring a quirky touch to an otherwise formal seating area, match him up with our vintage sofas.

There is no stopping this little fellow from being a valued guest at a range of events with themes such as enchanted, woodland or Wonderland. Who would ever forget being invited to an ugly bug ball, seeing the pages of a much loved children’s storybook come to life with a Very Hungry Caterpillar theme or attending an event based on Alice in Wonderland?
